Students research about gender discrimination

At the beginning of March students of our school carried out a survey on gender and women ´s discrimination. There were about 100 people answering the following questions.
1. WHAT IS MEANT BY GENDER?
2. IN WHICH AREAS ARE WOMEN IN THE CZECH REPUBLIC DISCRIMINATED?
3. DO YOU KNOW ANY CZECH WOMEN WHO TOOK PART IN AN EMANCIPATIONAL MOVEMENT FOR WOMEN OR IN GENERAL ?
4. DO YOU THINK WOMEN IN THE CZECH REPUBLIC SUFFER FROM DICRIMINATION IN EDUCATION?
Results:
1. 60% of respondents answered correctly that gender refers to the economical,social and cultural attributes and opportunities associated with being male and female. 40% of respondents were not able to answer the question.
2. The most frequents replies were as follows:
- at work, women´s earnings are lower than men´s for the same job position
- in companies, men usually have higher positions
- in army
- 30% of respondents think that women are not discriminated in any areas
3. The most often mentioned names were Božena Němcová, Karolína Světlá, Magdalena Dobromila Rettigová, 50% of respondents didn´t know a woman representing emancipational movement
4. All respondents replied that women aren´t dicriminated in education in the CR
